Play Spider Solitaire Classic Online For Free!
The aim of this version of Spider Solitaire is to clear the field of all cards.
Try to create as many stacks of cards, in succession, of a single suit, from K to A as possible. Stacks will be removed from the field upon completion.
The removed stack will be placed back to the deck. It will sometimes be substituted with a different suit, resulting in a more challenging game of solitaire. Thus, Spider becomes a four-suited game.
You may only add a card of a rank lower in value onto another card (irrespective of suit) as well as onto all cards resting on it. Any cards in hand can be dragged as long as the placed cards form a descending sequence of the same suit.
In an empty cell, you may place any card.
You can earn an extra shuffle by revealing all cards on the field.
A new row of cards may be added by clicking on the deck.
Hint. This game is fully compatible with mobile devices. It is also possible to play it in fullscreen. You can activate fullscreen by clicking the fullscreen mode icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
This version of Spider can be tough, which is why hints are available, and sometimes starting the layout over is helpful. Remember to compete against the other players by saving your record in the leaderboard!
Your mission is to form piles by arranging cards of the same suit in descending order, starting from the Ace and finishing with the King. The game is finished once there are no cards left on the playing field.
In Spider Solitaire, there are 2 decks used, hence 52 cards in each and 104 cards total. Depending on the level of difficulty, the cards can be of the same suit or different suits. The playing field consists of 10 functional piles, which hold 50 cards, 6 additional decks faced down and a field of piles for solitaire collection.
You are allowed to put cards on other cards provided they are on a descending order; a Queen can be put on a King, or a 9 can be put on a 10, Ace can be put on a 2, etc. In contrast to Klondike Solitaire, suits are ignored, and cards can be moved regardless of their suit. Still bear in mind that the objective of the game is to amass a stack of cards of the same suit, and it is therefore better to put a card on another card that is of the same suit.
Yet another important rule is that it is permitted to move more than one card at a time if the cards are in order and belong to the same suit. For example, if you have 10 of clubs, 9 of clubs and 8 of clubs, it is possible to move that stack of three cards to a Jack. In situations where the suits do not match, for example: 10 of clubs, 9 of hearts, 8 of clubs, you can only move the top card.
You can move any card(s) to a vacant cell on the playing field.
To take a collected pile off the field, it is required to create a stack of cards in order, from King to 2, all of the same suit.
When no more legal moves are possible, you can draw more cards from the stock. To do this, you click on the card on the upper right corner. You will then be dealt 10 cards from the reserve, one for each cell. You may not draw cards from the reserve as long as there is at least one empty cell.
Every move is penalized by one point from the initial 500. Completing one pile adds 100 points. For instance, if you made 3 piles in 70 moves, your score would then be 500 - 70 + 3 * 100 = 730.
The game has three levels of difficulty: Beginner - one suit, Intermediate - two suits, Professional - four suits. In all cases, the total number of cards is the same - 104.
Variations of the game can be found on our site: Spider 2 suits, Spider 4 suits, Spiderette.
